| EVELYN FULCHER RECALLS BEING POSTMASTER |
The Terlingua Post Office, and gas station relocated to Terlingua
Creek in 1949, after the Chisos Mine shut down. (Now private residences.)
Evelyn Fulcher remembers how they all would complain about the high price of gasoline, (30
cents a gallon), which she pumped for locals when they came for their mail, or for tourists, who were
on their way to the Big Bend National Park.
